Rev. Payne has served FBC as Pastor for the last 16 years, and has come to know and love ‘his’ people! Kevin preaches from the Word of God every week, teaching that God’s plans for our lives are found as we follow Him. He invites you to worship with us, and discover the very best life you can experience!
Lori Clemens, Child Care Center Director
Lori Clemens, Child Care Center Director
Lori has served as our Childcare Director for over 30 years, and has grown this ministry into one that is known and respected throughout Independence. She leads our Caregivers to provide full-time care to over 100 children from our community, and helps our church serve the needs of over 90 families in our area.
Debbie Sullivan, Office Manager
Debbie Sullivan serves as the First Baptist Church Office Manager, beginning her time here April 15 of 2024. Debbie has worked in the area for over 40 years, and served as Church secretary at First Presbyterian Church, Independence, for 12 years before coming to FBC. Debbie and her husband, Rob, have two grown children and two grandchildren in the Kansas City area, along with 3 pets in their home here in Independence. Debbie is a committed servant, and expresses her faith through her services in our ministries.
David Scott, Children's Minister
Rev. Scott has filled our Minister to Children position for more than 10 years, and loves the little ones. He leads them in class every week, and presents a Children’s Message during our weekly service.
Nathan Dean, Music Director
Nate has served as our Minister of Music for over 10 years, and brings a wealth of experience in the music world to FBC. Come and worship as Nate leads our Praise Team!
